After almost 6 months of negotiations, and planning, it is finally done! .. or well.. it has been kinda done for some time, but it had to be kept under wraps.

Today, it is announced on SGX, and here we go! Kim Eng Holdings acquires FXDS Learning Group (and Forex Driving School!).

For me, I am very excited because we have great plans and ways to reach out to more new students in the region and also to better support all our friends.

Looking forward to a great year ahead!

Tue, 26 Jan 2010 01:30:00 -0800 OF Relationships & Love http://winstonng.posterous.com/of-relationships-and-love http://winstonng.posterous.com/of-relationships-and-love

Photo courtesy Fran & Jarra

In this day, you see many couplings of a man and a woman that are labelled as relationships. Romance and its like has been stretched so far and out of proportion that anyone who stops for a moment, would wonder if exploitation is in the air.

It seems almost taboo to say that a woman should shut the **** up, but it is acceptable in many social circles for the woman to denigrate their husbands.

Men whine that women control the purse strings of the household, but they never make the effort to be financially wise and prudent.

The blame game reeks so badly, it actually stinks relationships of today. For me, I'm a person thats old school; back to the roots. I believe in a relationship that is loving, filled with grace and strength, passion and long suffering.

It takes a man who is responsible to love his wife beyond himself and a woman who is responsible to love her husband beyond herself.

It is sad when you hear men who want to get women they can control, or women who want to get men who love them more than they love him.

Ultimately, true love only blossoms in vulnerability.

Why are we moved by movies where the hero and heroine go through trauma together and come out? It is because their love is forged with a new set of rules, where one risks his life for the other.

In our fear-driven society, we rather not risk for the other person, in case we come out with the shorter end of the stick.

Control

If you take a deep breath and find that your relationship has one party with obvious control, then control runs wild in the relationship and deep love is hindered from blossoming.

Overt Control - This is the most obvious. The party that gives all the instructions. Usually, this party will also be blamed for any problems in the relationship.

Passive Aggressive Control (PAC) - Where there is overt control, there must be passive aggressive control. Like a magnet, a relationship will never function with one-sided overt control. Passive Aggressive control occurs when the other party knows the weak spot of the person with over control, and on the surface it looks like the on with Overt Control (OC) is ruling. Under the surface however, the person with PAC knows that doing certain actions will make the OC crumble, and will frequently use these actions in the background to control. In the foreground, it will look "normal", thus reinforcing the PAC's image.

Present Day Relationships

These control issues manifests themselves broadly in the types of relationships that are prevalent around us today.

Boy - Mother: Many men these days are boys at heart, and look for women who are direct and have self-purpose. They allow their women to control family functions that are predominantly male in essence. It allows them to be boyishly irresponsible, as the mother figure will protect them.

Whatever passive traits that their father has in relation to their mothers, they will carry on these passive traits.

Girl - Father: Women these days having been thrust into a male-dominated workforce to succeed, have little time to be vulnerable outside of the embrace of their fathers. Hence, the only place to be safe is in an environment that is like a father's love. They usually get away with kiddish behaviour and spoilt daughter syndromme.

Problems occur when they carry forward all their misgivings with their father to their husband. Whatever their mothers do to their fathers, they will do to their husbands. They usually also distrust their partner's judgements when it comes to really crux of the matter issues.

Man - Woman: This relationship is characterised by a man who is not ashamed to be a warrior. A man who is chivalrous and unapologetic that he is the sharp end of the sword. His partner is a woman that embraces the weight of the relationship, her husband, the world, and knows that the beauty of nature is also the infinite power of destruction in her radiance. Both are responsible, both are fearful, both are courageous and most importantly both will lay down their lives for the sake of the other.

Is your relationship at the level of passion you fantasise it to be?

True love through vulnerability (even only from one side) invokes an opening of a heart that no words can fully describe, nor any wedding banquet can fully project.

It heals your soul and your world; it injects life and in turn creates a better generation.

If you suspect, this is what is empty in your heart. First start by reclaiming your own masculine-feminine energy.

That little quiet still voice in times of crisis is the one we must learn to follow. Yet, we tend to short-change our destiny by taking the path driven by fear (even if it is more painful in the shortrun), as it gives us certainty and removes vulnerability.

.. But that is where true love, and great power lies.

To find out how to use day to day activities to heighten your masculine and feminine energies, drop me an email for a consultation session. :) do it today. or you'll wake up tomorrow asking why you did not do it yesterday.

Mon, 14 Dec 2009 05:52:15 -0800 Stop & Smell the Flowers http://winstonng.posterous.com/stop-and-smell-the-flowers-1 http://winstonng.posterous.com/stop-and-smell-the-flowers-1

Many well-meaning people tell us to stop the rush of life and smell the flowers. It is a great recommendation, but how do we go about doing it? Is it as simple as literally canceling a meeting and going for a walk in the garden?

No! We can cancel many meetings, walk in many gardens, and even smell the flowers…and still have no memory of it unless….

My insight is that in order to smell the flowers we need to see them first, to be aware of their existence and beauty, and for that we need to turn our eyes outward. That will happen when we stop the brain from totally monopolizing our awareness.

We need to slow our minds. We need to control our minds rather than be controlled by them.

We need to move from the brain to the heart.

This last point needs explaining: The brain has left and right sides to it. The sides argue with each other. The right side is very liberal, creative, risk taking. The left side is detail-oriented, risk-averse, conservative. They can spend days, years, arguing with each other about what to do and leaving you bewildered. You will act because you have to, but you will be acting full of doubts and thus pregnant with anxiety and worry.

When you listen to your heart it is like being in love. There is no answer to the question “why?” When you make a decision “with all your heart,” there is no doubt, no anxiety, no worry. You feel at peace with your decision.

Granted you should start thinking with your brain; do your due diligence on the subject. But end your internal debate with your heart. To make a final decision let your heart speak.

Tue, 29 Sep 2009 03:32:10 -0700 Who fights who! http://winstonng.posterous.com/who-fights-who http://winstonng.posterous.com/who-fights-who Was searching for a new front (spoiler)? the thing in front of the car... ah yes.. the kit.. anyway, to make car more fierce.

1. Searched for "bmw singapore"

Then the bmw singapore result came out.

OOH... Mercedes was fighting with them for Google Ads.. in fact, fighting so well, that they are at horizontal premium level.

2. Searched for "mercedes singapore"

Oughta be fun.

Hmm... the guys that BMW contracted, clearly was not so efficient to fight for top spot or any spot on "mercedes singapore".

3. Searched for "audi singapore"

Mercedes and BMW didnt think much of them. Not worth even competing.

Audi probably thinks: why should we spend on google ads for our own brand?

hahahah

===

P.s.: this is tongue-in-cheek, and only represents instantaneous shots at that precise moment from my computer. Any half-baked google SEO geek will know that this can all be changed in a nano-second.

No malice intended to anyone; neither mercedes, audi, or bmw fans. hahah.

Tue, 01 Sep 2009 21:07:30 -0700 Awesome Marketing! http://winstonng.posterous.com/awesome-marketing http://winstonng.posterous.com/awesome-marketing I received this email. This is absolutely awesome marketing!

You have always been protected by American Express' limited liability policy

"American Express has always believed that it is our responsibility to stand behind our Cardmembers, and in these uncertain economic times that has never been more important.

As highlighted by the recent media coverage and discussions of the consumers' liability on fraudulent purchases made on their cards, I wanted to reassure you that American Express takes any fraudulent usage of its card products very seriously and we have in place policies and systems for the protection of our Cardmembers."

"[all]our Platinum Charge Cards and Centurion Cards ... enjoy zero dollar liability"

Yes, at times, they have nonsense policies. But you've to hand it to them, every time when it comes to the crux, they pull it through. Sometimes, involves speaking to a manager, but it gets through!

awesome awesome marketing.

Waking Up Early Is a Waste of Time

Long time ago, when I first started to adopt successful lifestyles habits, long before Lifehack became a fancy term; the first thing you will see on every blog is: “Every successful person sleeps very little”.

They will tell you that Tony Robbins sleeps only 4 hours a day, and he’s running a $1billion conglomerate.

Bill Gates probably sleeps much less.

Every tom, dick and harry CEO who looks 5 hours.

In fact, many self-made people like to establish their success worth by the number of hours they work a day; or rather the resulting number of hours a day.

When we were young, you were told that: eat and sleep generally makes you a pig. And everyone knows that the only successful pig in the business is Porky Pig.

===================

A newbie like me figured if I slept less, I would be fresher everyday and do more!

===================

That began my quest to sleep less and have more energy.

…. Started to eat low-carbo foods

…. Sleep at the right cycle hours

…. Disciplined myself to wake up and sleep

…. Bought an insanely expensive e-book on sleep research

=====================

I didn’t get more successful

======================

I woke up more energetic after working at it for a couple of months, but did I get more successful.

No.

Unless, you count now being an “expert” on sleep research.

After awhile, I started doing lots of other “fun” stuff, and filled my day.

I now was awake for longer, doing more fun stuff, but still not more successful.

And the dreaded thing comes along .. busy-ness for busy-ness sake.

Say that out loud…. Busi-ness comes to mind yea…

80% of self-employed people; small business owners, insurance agents, real estate agents and sales people are spending all their time running their busi-ness!

By the way, employed people busy themselves with other things, like an insanely neat house, or endless hobbies.

Can you imagine if you had more waking hours!!

You’ll be busier, more tired, and at some point, frustrated at running but getting nowhere!

Do you know anyone in this state right now?

==============

Of course, I started sleeping more

==============

After the realisation, I started sleeping more, and I’m sure you did too.

Why tire my body for no reason?

=============

Then, over night, I learnt powerful sleep

=============

1 Year ago, I woke up one day and say, “I’ve to watch every energy source, and sleep my best”. And the next day, it happened.

What was the secret?

Success.

Success gives your body a goal.

I am now running 4 companies, training to be a lifeguard, learning the piano, publishing a best-selling book, going on holidays with my family, and sleep much less, yet with more energy.

Without a goal that is aligned with your soul, your body will protect itself from unnecessary work. That is the natural element.

It will ask itself, why am I caring about nutrition, since I don’t use my current levels to the maximum anyway?

Why am I caring about sleep, when I don’t use make ground breaking strides with the hours I have right now?

Notesscore

I've finally gotten my hymm to sound almost like a hymm, except for the bits of lag here and there... think of it like.. bandwidth choking!

I'm pretty happy because I've no formal piano training and I somehow managed to make this Eflat Hymm sound vaguely familiar!

Key Facts

* Took 3 months
* 10 minutes a day
* Sounded like crap for 1 month. Just kept at it.
* Didnt stress myself on the outcome.
* Only focused on doing it 10 minutes a day.

I've been really busy (as most of you know), but I also wanted to play this song. So, I decided that every day, I sure put a few minutes into practicing it. I was absolutely sure that even if I didnt have energy to concentrate fully, I can still make it work.

If a little dripping droplet of water on the same spot, can create a crater in a cement floor; anything can be achieved with consistent effort (however small).

EVEN if you don't think there is improvement, keep on going at it, and somehow it WILL become right. Your mind will find its way out.

You only lose when you stop!

Sawadee Krup,

Just a few quick pictures to make all you people envy the wonderful drinks i'm having at the rooftop of Asia!

haha. seriously, i landed with a throbbing headache, and the taxi "uncle" from the airport wanted to show that his 10 year old car can still speed.... reminded me of the song .. "Don't write me off just yet". ... at the moment, I was missing my car... and asking myself. "Why did I save that THB1000 for a taxi instead of the limousine"?

However, fear not ... Banyan Tree Bangkok managed to pry away from me many extra 1000s THBs before the sun has set on this vibrant city.

Grumbles aside.

Its beautiful to end your day with drinks at the top of the sky.

See you soon!!

The food is fantastic, and cheap! Everything here, plus the tabao is for 2, exactly the same. All in is $11!

Tip: ask for chicken rice instead of white rice.

They sell out by 1.30pm, no dinner.

I've been looking at this bent fork and spoon in front of me like forever...

Some time back, someone said I should try spoon bending.

So, after some edging, decided to give it a go.

Its essentially pretty fun, and the outcome is similar to board breaking, arrow bending, fire walking.

It gives you an alternative perception of what can and cannot be done.

However, many people get addicted to the next big thing ... (oh yeah, include in above list .. glass walking too) ...
